Best 26-27" LCD for monitor?

I am about a week away from purchasing an LCD-TV to use as a monitor. I've been hunting around and have found a few. My budget is less than 800.00 after shipping. So far i am leaning towards this one.

Viewsonic 27"

But here are a few i have also looked at. If anyone has any other good ones i am missing, please let me know. I do want a DVI input. This will be used solely as a PC monitor.

The resolutions on those TV's are much to low..

I would go with a large LCD (2405fpw ) for around $800 or so with coupons..

You get a big screen, with a significantly better res..

IMO..

that 27" x2gen looks pretty good also. wish it had some reviews already. comes with a free 2.5 foot long r/c car also. Good christmas present for the nephew

but you can get a bigger screen for even less money with the examples he posted. I use a 26" Syntax (HVE) and I am VERY satisfied with it. For internet/text I know that it is the BETTER choice over a high resolution panel (like 1920x1080) for the 26" size because that would end up with really small text.

I would have to get closer to the screen for a comfortable viewing experience. I currently sit about 4 or 5 feet back from mine.

A lot of people who complain about the resolution assume that you have to be sitting at your desk with the monitor two feet in front of your face.

Not everyone wants to be like that.

There are some situations where you would want more resolution.

I know, I actually got mine for $600 refurb. I was worried about the no DVI pic...But looked elsewhere and it should have it.

Yeah it definately does. Look for it on tiger direct and they actually have a pic of that back panel removed to show a VGA and DVI connector behind it.

As for the resolution, i am fine with 1280x720 or 1280x768. Screen size is more important to me at this point.

Anyone have any experience using the 32 inch version of that display? I'm thinking about grabbing it but it doesn't have a dvi it has hdmi and vga...

I ordered the 27" x2gen of newegg yesterday. Only thing im wondering about is the site says 1280x720, but every other site says 1280x1024. I emailed x2gen and asked them for a spec sheet on model mv2701.

I'm using the Viewsonic N2750W as my main TV / computer / gaming display.

It rocks ! Absolutely no ghosting and perfect colour uniformity.

1280 X 720 is exactly 720P, so you have a pixel perfect monitor for 270P gaming (XBOX360, PS3).

1280 X 720 is EASY on the video card, so you don't need to shell out 1000$+ for graphics cards every year 🙂

got the monitor and everything is great. I used the VGA cable and was able to do 1280x720 with my video card. I now use the DVI cable and that option is gone from the choices. Closest i can come to it is 1280x960. any clues? I really enjoyed the 1280x720, but i also spent some money on this DVI cable that i would love to use if possible.

Why in the hell would you want to game at such a low resolution on a computer!?!?

OP I would look at the 2405, or maybe even save for an Apple Cinema Display.

Dell 2005FPW. I have it and it works GREAT, much better than my old CRT.

Here's some good choices:
Dell 2005FPW
Dell 2405FPW
Apple Cinema (choose this one if you want a larger screen)
