best 2.1 speaker system?

what would be the best 2.1 speaker system for a computer (terms of quality, features, power etc.)? whether it be multimedia speakers, or if you managed to somehow connect your audiophile speakers to the computer and used them effectively.

both practical (klipsch 2.1) and extreme (own real setup).

obviously it'd be for music, and 2.1 can make music sound pretty darn good sometimes. heh.

i think i would opt for headphones, but i dont know. id like to see some really godd stuff.

I used to run mine through my stereo - the speakers were set up on the window sill behind & a little above my desk. That sounded pretty good. After I moved the furnature in my room around, I ended up getting a pair of Altec Lansing ATP3s - not bad speakers at all, considering the $50 price. As far as the Klipsch speakers go, I've never used them - and I've heard (pardon the pun) mixed reviews on them. IMO, if you do get them, hang on to your reciept and try them out before you decide to keep them.
