You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

If you had ANY clue, you would know that the speakers I mentioned are FAR better options when music is concerned.
Triangle is a well known and high-end french company.
Epos, brought by Creek is from England
JMR is also a frnech company, that manufactures the AMAZING Twins MkIII!!!

Mission has become a company for the masses; Moreover tha model you have mentioned is not good for music. It is great for Home-Thatre though!

These cmpanies are well known in Europe, less known in America. I was driving the Triangle Comete by an Italian Integrated Amplifier, named Puccini by Audio Analogue, which is also a great amp!

Don't think that Mission is a High-End manufacturer in the world of audiophiles. It might been once, but no anymore.

BTW, even the speakers I mentioned are not considered extremely High-End; Jeff Rowland, Krell, Meridian, Wilson Audio, Martin Logan, Mark Levinson are far respectable.

Tell me this, if Mission are so rubbish why do their best speakers cost £20,000 per pair, made of graphite, and have like 14 drivers in each speaker? You going to tell me those speakers are rubbish for music too just because they are Missions?

Have you actually heard the m74i's, the m54i's? I know there are companies that have a better name than Mission, but from my experience (and I have listened to both Meridian speakers and M&K's), for the massive price difference (over a thousand pounds per pair), there really is no way you can say the Missions are rubbish with Music. Pair these babies with a DVD Audio like I have and you hav'nt heard much else like it unless you pay over a thousand pounds.

The Mission 780 have very good performance in music. But the m74 are, IMHO, not as good as the 780.

The numbers of drivers implemented in a speaker says nothing about its quality. Are you familiar with LothX?

I think that there are far better speakers than those. Vienna Acoustics Haydn is also a great speaker, as well as ProAc Tablette 2000.

BTW, are you driving those Mission m74s with a Home-Theatre amp, or with a good Integrated/Tube amp?

I have never had the pleasure of a tube amp.

Anyways, I go for 'bang for buck', so in all honesty, I would not want to spend much more than I already have done on the m74's. I auditioned M&K's, Bowers & Wilkins, and Bose, and I saw no competition. When I heard the Meridians, and the M&K's, the sound was obviously 'better', but both sets cost more than I earn in 1 month.

I have a Harman/Kardon setup. I suppose from your high-end viewpoint, you can call it cheap-and-cheerful, lol.
However, I wouldnt be adversed to checking out any of your suggestions like the two you just mentioned, got any linkies?

Vienna Acoustics for Haydn

ProAc Loudspeakers for Tablette 2000

Both models can be haded for less than 1000$ in Europe!

Still waiting on the frequency response curves that show that the Klipsch 2.1s "lack a lot in the midrange area". I'm seriously considering purchasing them, but haven't been able to find any articles that support your claim. Thanks!

Well, I think that you should just go and listen to the set by yourself. If you like it, buy it!
I think that for your budget you can not get anything better or at least FAR better.

Sat' speakers can never replace the REAL good ol' speaker box. It is just isn't the same for my taste...

Sat' speakers sound very thin to me and can not deliver the vocals in a way a speaker like those I have mentioned can. Let us not forget that these also cost a lot more... :)

What I see here is a lot of name brand dropping as if its going to make somebody more "knowledgeable" in audio/music speakers etc...:frown: Sure you can buy high-end Mark Levinson, Monitor Audio B&K, etc.. speakers and matching monster amps/receivers but just look at the current situation of the person who asked the question. Is he going to throw down $500 and up for speakers (and more for amps) so his computer can play good music? Probably not. Most decent bookshelf speakers will sound better in music than 'computer speakers' unless you go higher up in price.
