I'm looking for a great sounding but economically sound (not necessarily budget) computer speaker system for mostly listening to music and for video editing work.
Let's cap my budget at $500, max (but my wife would be happy if I spend closer to $200). I'm not a musician nor am I really an audiophile, so the cheaper the better 😉
I had the klipsch promedia 2.1 set years ago and loved it but found the highs a little shrill. Something eventually fried so I dumped it and use a set of "speaker company" (i.e. generic?) 2.1 speakers that sound pretty good, but the sound seems pretty bottle up, and not very lively.
I listen to mostly indie rock, electronic, and hip hop (with a little acoustic folk and soundtrack music thrown in as well)
