I'm looking in the near future to build a new rig. I'm looking at getting a 19" LCD and looking to stay at under $400.00 OTD. Pretty much the system will be used for everything..including gaming..which probably will become rather addictive for me. So something that is and overall excellent peforming LCD that will be used on a a possibly OC'd system. Any at all input...or suggestions would be awesome. As this will help me dwindle things down to a better idea.

I just bought that same Dell which was on sale. The 1905FP is a really nice looking monitor, with great color.

It's a bit slow on response time, but I haven't noticed any severe ghosting.

A friend has one, it's great, as long as you use the DVI input. On analog, it's ok, not great.

details? Whats DVI, and whats analong? Whats the difference? Oh and ive been reading that if you're not at the native res, its looks pretty bad. Obviously i know almost nothing, so please explain :\

All great monitors but if you plan on buying one soon i suggest doing it on black friday. That 940b dropped 10 dollars in one day today, who knows what its gonna be at then. If you want to save some money go with the FP91G+ like others have recommended.

I love that 930BF, 4MS. Samsung are also top notch.

I would seriously wait for Dell to have a deal on a 2001FP or a 2005FPW. There is one main reason I say this, they have higher native resolutions, 1600x1200 (2001fp) and 1680x1050 (2005fpw), and I don't know of any good 19in LCD's that offer this. If you have time to wait, I'd certainly do so. We are bound to see a deal on one of these two monitors, expect $400 up to $450. IMO, the few extra bucks and the wait are definitely worth it. I have a 2001FP and love it.

The 1905FP has more viewable area than the 2005FPW, and I don't watch movies on my computer. I know widescreen is the new cool thing but some of us have no use for it.

Why not? Thumb drives, card readers, anything can plug in there, and it's way easier than reaching under the desk to plug it into the computer.

I have heard that Dell makes a very competitive LCD and at a competitive price.
