I bought from Azatek, and it looks like I am going to have to RMA it 🙁 Let's hope their customer service lives up to the hype!

Could you keep me informed on how that works out for you?

So far it's not going well. I e-mailed them on Sunday and I have yet to get a response. Sunday was Day 6 out of 7 of the trial (free return shipping), so they better not contact me now and say it's too late.

Today I bought a nice gaming rig for my brother...He has the P992

I didn't bother looking on LCD's since that monitor STILL offers quality viewing.

Do yourself a favor, get a Dell 2001fp or similar lcd. It absolutely roasts all the crt's, any resolution. My 2001fp looks a little dim compared to my 2005fpw, but it still stomps anything in the crt department. I've travelled a lot to many corporate clients, many universities, and many computer stores, fairs, etc. I used all the Sony and Mitsubishi monitors in college. I had a Samsung 900nf myself, and promptly gave it away after getting my first 2001fp. 1600x1200 is absolutely perfect on this monitor, no fuzziness, distortion, blurriness. If you can't wait, I understand. But personally, I'd find a way to save another $100 or so for an lcd🙂

He was asking about CRT's... this is OT and thread crapping.

CRT's have many advantages over LCD's, such as when printing to a quality printer, getting the same image, LCD's are not nearly as accurate for photo work, and the list can go on, blacker black's, etc.

You can get really, really good deals on off lease 20-21" CRTs if you look around. I picked up another Trinitron 21" as a spare as I can see them getting harder to find in the future.

I have a 19" Dell Trinitron and 21" RasterOps (Hitachi) CRTs. Their viewing quality is difficult to fault, only their sizes. As monitors, I only have praises.

I can say the Dell P991 is nice, after ~5 years of use, still works (although it might be failing a bit).
Ran fine at 16x12 @ 85 for most of that time. Replaced due to space limitations only.

Don't know if you live in Canada or not, but THESE are a steal if you do. They also have a US store and have some good deals on smaller (19") monitors.. but for the extra bit it's worth going to 21" of CRT goodness.
