Hey guys,

I need some input on what you think is the best 19" AG monitor out there. It's going to be for everyday home use in my den, i will be running it @ 1024x768. I think I've narrowed it down to either the NEC 19" FE950+ or Samsung 19" 900NF. But more input would obviously help :)
Thanks.

For AG i would guess Sony is the best, G400 iirc. LG Electronics makes an AG/Shadow mask mix called the Flatron 915FT+(no stabilizing wires). I've heard alot of good things on the Samsung 900NF.

One other thing to consider, the recommended resolution on all 19" monitors is 1280x1024x32, quality will suffer in 1024x768x32 I believe.

I would like to see a stone that says "Best CRT is Eizo" on it.

My monitor isn't even on that top 10 list lol, even though it has some great specs, better than all on that list I think.

I have the ADI MicroScan G910, Aperture Grill and it uses Sony's FD Trinitron Tube.

19" (18" diagonal viewable image), 0.24 mm Aperture Grill Pitch, Trinitron Pure Flat tube
Max. Resolution 1920x1440 @ 75Hz (maximum).

It's probably the best monitor I've ever had. I'm very tempted to get a LCD monitor next time round with ghosting being less of an issue, and prices falling........or wait for a nice plasma..... *drool*

That PC World 19" top 10, they need to weigh what's important in a monitor more than just cost. (for Joe Blow the best monitor would be the cheapest, but most people on this forum are looking for a lot more from their components.

I look for low dot pitch .25 or lower on AG, 1600x1200 refresh rates(must be 85Hz+ for my needs). As close to a perfectly flat screen as humanly possible for a decent price(Inside and outside).

hmmm. Eizo.
I actually wanted a EIZO most. I once saw a EIZO 21' in a expo and could move myself for awhile. But never got rich enough to own one. And they are more difficult to find too.

From personal experience, Sony GDM-F400, is an excellent monitor. It is a bit pricey for an average Joe, however in my opinion it is worth every penny. Beatiful colors, perfectly flat, .22 dot pitch and pretty small footprint. I believe ZDNet had this monitor as #1 in 19" before Sony GDM-F420 came out. Now, as you can guess, GDM-F420 is on the top.

i'm sure you can search on 19" and find many old threads on this.

Dell has it.
19" T761 is $639.95. F730 is $413.95.
21" F980 is $1782.95. T962 is $1131.95.
Last time when there was 25% off and free shipping, you could get the T761 for $480 which is like the regular price of Sony G420S.

I know Eizo is made in Japan, that's why I prefer Eizo to anything else.
I've seen so many crappy Sony mon, that's why I'd rather spend $100 more to get Eizo instead of Sony.
