Best 16X DVD-RW and discs

what is the best 16x dvd-rw currently available? at the moment i am considering purchasing the NEC 3500A as not only is it available at the low cost of £43.99, the reviews I have seen for Plextor 716 have not been that good. However i am still unsure as to whether the NEC is the best as I have read good reviews for both the LG and the Pioneer, or is there another drive that is better than any of these?😕 Also are there any specific DVD-R and DVD-RW discs that work better than others?

I have just ordered the NEC 3500A can someone tell me which brands of dvd-r and dvdrw work best with it?

ridata 4x dvd+r worked well for me. it may burn at 8x, if you worry about the stability, use
the 4x.

do you know any good 8x or 16x dvd discs?

The Ridata 4X discs have performed pretty well at 8x for me. 16X discs (if available) will be too expensive and 8X discs will probbaly cost 25% more than the 4x ones.

If you want only 8x, stick with the Ridata brand.

look over at the Hot Deals for fujifilms. the fujifilms i got for 50/$20 are rated at 8x but burns at 16x for me w/o problems.

are dual layer discs worth buying or is it better to just get more 8x and 16x discs?
