Besides iTunes being slow, it also does this

All of them are shitty. Music player does a horrible job of managing music. Don't get an android phone if you care about music. They all sound like shit too. I had to go dig out my iPod 5.5 just to listen to music when I had an Android phone.

Now I either just use my iphone 4 or I line-out from it into a headphone amp

Ubermusic by the same guy who does Launcher Pro is great.

I tried it. It's better but not good or great. I ended up using Google Music for everything. Also it's mostly the hardware that sucks. Cheaper built-in amp kill sound quality and the dynamic range.

Seriously?

The Galaxy S phones (particularly with voodo sound) have the best sound quality you can get in a phone, far better than that iPod. Plus they also have far better format support, good luck playing flac files on an iPhone.

If you are going to troll at least do a good job of it.

We have two of them at work. Just because they have some branding on them doesn't make them good.

I do a good job of it because I work with a ton of phones. I'm not shitting out of my ass here... I can hear jesus fucking allah with my Shures and that's what I normally use while using these phones.

I absolutely detest how OSX arranges task bars at the top of the desk top, suspended from the windows of the actual program. --say I have a Word document open and that tiny little bit that the top of the window that they allow me to click and drag is covered by that infernal suspended task bar (arrows disappeared, can't move the fucking task bar), and so it can't be moved.

fuck that bullshit.

Do you mean the menu bar? It's always there, how are you getting your windows stuck behind it in the first place?

My girlfriend has an apple iwhatever laptop, and no matter what program you're using, when clicking the "maximize" button, the window doesn't actually fill the whole screen; you can always see some of the desktop on the edges. It drives me crazy.

Edit: I also use dropbox to share some music amongst my bandmates. They play the music in itunes directly from the shared folder and itunes loads it up with all the friggin coverart files. I hate that, too.

That's because it's not really a maximize button. It's to switch between normal state (application-determined appropriate size) and user state (user-defined size) in applications.

The more you know. 😉

no, the task bar for Word or Excel or whatever, which pops up under the OS menu bar. that's how they are arranged, anyway. they are active only if the window for that program is active, so if the window for Word is oriented in a position where the task bar will cover the the top of the window, you can't move it, even if you click out to remove the task bar, then try to click directly onto that part of the window

the task bar pops up anyway and doesn't let you grab that window.

I hate Apple.

Still not sure what you're talking about. Word 2011 under OS X:

So you rooted a couple of business phones and flashed them with a kernel supporting voodoo sound?

This is the problem with Android owners. Nobody but you and your nerd friends care about flac.

That's the problem with you iPhone owners, you listen to your crappy compressed music with garbage earbuds and then rave about your phones unmatched sound quality. 🙄

Pfft. I use Shure earbuds and 196 - 256kbps MP3 and/or AAC and know that's good enough for 99% of humans out there. FLAC is just a waste of space to pretend you can hear over 20KHz. "But man, you can *feel* it" 😀 Good thing Android has removable storage so you can fit all those big ass files.

I love my Android.. and auto-mounting it as a generic USB storage, such that I can add/remove things at will, using whatever OS I wish.

*hug*

Yes. It's my department. Also flashing a phone isn't going to change the hardware... Unless the devs somehow fucked jesus...

lol just stop...

No android phone supports a direct line out from the DAC.

Like I said, if you are going to troll at least do it well. I'm not going to bother explaining what supercurio did with voodoo sound since that's what Google is for but I will say that it does improve sound quality.

Your department is rooting & modding company phones? Somehow I don't see that going over well in a decent I.T. department.

I don;t work for an IT Department....

iTunes blows heavily... especially if you have your music on a network storage then it is absolutely ridiculously shitty.
