Besides being widescreen, is there any reason why I should switch from 2001fp to 2005fwp

Thinking of taking advantage of the current sale. Has anyone made the switch? Would be interested in knowing whether it's worth it.

I did, and I think it was worth it.

Mainly because I REALLY like widescreen gaming. I didnt notice if one panel was "better" than the other to be honest though.

Well if you're big into brightness the 2005FPW is noticably brighter. I liked it better than the 2001FP when I had both. I currently have another 2001FP and its a nice panel to be sure, but I rather liked the 2005FPW myself.

You really can't go wrong with either one, but for me I prefer the 2005.

Some games don't support widescreen at all, in which case you just run pillarboxed.

The black level on the 2005 is much better than that of the 2001 also!
