They do. Aggravated rape gets you the death penalty in some states. This argument has come up a thousand times and I don't understand the logic or reason.

A person who accidently kills a child in a car, though driving recklessly in a residential zone, cannot be categorized with a guy who intentionally and maliciously wrecked a thousands of people?s lives. However if you want to compare a guy who planned and viciously killed another human being, next to madoff, I'm sure you find the punishment the same if not worse.
