I checked a few Team Anandtech SETI queues and they all say it's been well over a day since the last WU has been sent in or downloaded.. damn, this really sucks... I hope it gets fixed soon and is not screwed up for a week like it was last time..

man, this BITES....

Yep, bites big time. I am lucky that I have about a week or so that I can go without a WU download between my queue and ok's proxy.

I think they need to move off campus

You got that right.. maybe find a corporation like SUN or SGI that's already a major sponsor and see if some kind of arrangement could be worked out? ;)

At the very least, the project needs to be mirrored elsewhere - I mean, this is supposed to be "Distributed Computing" isn't it?!?

I store 50 in a Q locally, and I have 500+ available for DL right now... so I'm sure everything will be OK here.. but damn, it shouldn't have to be like this.. the ONLY bright side of this, coming off a downside is, maybe some people will get fed up, move to a different project, and we who are dedicated will have it more smoothly after that.. lol.. that's gotta be the only good in this...

After another outage some months ago, I make it a point of keep a few hundred WUs on hand at all times - still, that will only last me about five days, though my queue also fetches/flushes from the Federation queue as well, so I may have a few more days than that. ;)

Didn't someone tell me WUs are good for up to 4 weeks? If so, maybe we should all consider setting aside WUs for a lot longer than just a week or so(maybe I should only speak for myself here:eek:). Did squirrels jump into Berkeley's power generators or something? Someone fill me in with their latest woes, thanks...

The only dissapointment for is that I will have completed my 250th WU tomorrow. And I am in a race with LukFilm and it would be nice to be able to upload finished wu's and have closure.. Depending on how long this is down. we may not be able to determine a winner.

I have a problem... I have 2 extra PC's cruncinh WU's, and I need to flush them NOW. Since Berkley is down, I decided to flush them to the AT SETI-queues (I don't need any new WU's, I just need to get rid of the compelted WU's in these two PC's). I'm having problem getting rid of them, but I'm getting there. The problem I have is that when I download the WU's, it doesn't say that I'm logged in as "Nemesis77". It just says "Logged in as <>". Are those WU's being credited to me?

I can last til Thursday and then I have a 200WU/day addiction to feed. :(

I wonder how big a cache Cygor has?

I sure hope it wasn't another cut cable. That took forever to fix.

Boy this is getting kinda crazy. Nothing's getting through.

I'm thinking about walking my finished WU's up the hill to the SSL!

I've still got a few weeks worth queued up though, in light of previous outages.

I had just been debating caching more WU's then I thought better of it.

Hope this outage isn't going to prove me wrong.

I keep about 5-6 days worth ,this is usually enough ,the only time it came real close was when their cable was cut about a year ago ,I was down to my last WU when I could finally connect!

mchammer187 & Carrot39
If you can't get any WU's from the publicly listed SETIQ's then I maybe able to help ,I flush my Q through my mates Q(DrE) which is on a cable connection.Thing is its fairly small ,got 41 WU's statshed atm ,so its no good for the big guns.
I don't want to publicise the url 'cos its not my server & he uses it as an ftp server too!

ah crap... i'm running out :(

My queues for some reason only stock 800WUs each (I have one for each of the two schools). They're down to about 400 each, and should be empty in about 3 days.

Hopefully, the small 12 WU caches on each machine will keep them ok till this is restored. If this lasts for another week, I'm screwed. :disgust:

I very much doubt it'll go on for another week ,aside from the cable cutting inccident most outages last no longer than 3-4 days.So don't panick yet;)

Nope, it seems that WU's no longer expire, even after extended periods of time. Unlike the milk in the refrigerator. Bleah! :disgust:

After 1month they do resubmit WU's ,after that you take your chances as whether your WU's get rejected as duplicates
