No, it's probably the members of MECha....who are probably hispanic...but neither of us will know unless some arrests and convictions are made. You're just assuming it was suburban white kids as this would give you even more grounds to be outraged.

If it was the MECha group, and I am sure it is, it shows an even greater double standard on behalf of Berkeley. Once again, if the situations were reversed they would have been expelled as racists.

)There's a group of mostly white kids (though there's some a few Asians and a handful of Middle Easterners, South Asians, Blacks, and Hispanics) who take it upon themselves to jump over everything.
When the school was threatening to slow down funding to the Asian Studies department a couple years ago, it was white people who were sleeping in tents in front of a building I had my class in (which prevented me from attending class :|)
On September 11 within hours of the attack, when they knew a reaction by the government was imminent, they were already protesting on Sproul plaza and walking through there, you could only see white faces.
When the dailyCal ran a cartoon that depicted the suicide bombers as evil people headed for hell, the group stormed the dailyCal offices...Local papers ran the story and sure, there were a couple Middle Eastern faces in the mix but mostly, it was those same random white kids.
Anyhow, back to the topic, yeah, it was probably these exact same guys...
As a liberal I advocate killing anybody who preaches hate, especially Al Qaeda.
As an aside, I wonder what the rest of us will have to do if Bush and his Fundamentalist Christian buddies are in power at the end time and they need to push the button to destroy evil knowing they will destroy the world, but knowing too that the good guys are going to heaven. What a moral dilema. Do you act against a religious nut case, if your opinion is that he is a nut case, when he threatens the extinction of life, possibly killing him if necessary, or do you, knowing that killing is wrong, let him push the button. Just a hypothetical for those who like ethical challenges. I'm sure nothing like that will ever come to pass.

Agreed. And they should be arrested immediatly. If the authorities really wanted to find out who they are, they would.

Well Texas is the third most populous state in the Union. Stands to reason we have the 3rd largest Gay couple population in the U.S. Don't apply for that PhD in statistics just yet.

Anyway...back to the topic. In my four years at UT Austin, I remember quite a few examples of Bolsheviks like MeCHA (yes we have a chapter here, as well) resorting to childish tactics as a means to stifle conservative thought...or anything that even questioned their viewpoints.
It's always an inspiring challenge to be a conservative mind in a sea of left-wing brainwashing that typifies most American college campuses.

Let's look at what is factual here:
1) a group who is openly Conservative in it's views has been targetted
2) they have been targeted for their opinion of an issue put forth by another group
3) the group targetting them has issued a race based challenge to the status quo
4) the challenge from point #3 is the center of this whole situation and is why the Conservative group(from point #1) has spoken out against it
The consrvative/liberal bent of MECha hasn't been established, nor is it even an issue. Yet you and others would like it to be.
