i was cleaning the cpu and i guess i bent a couple pins in the process.

is the cpu ruined or can i straighten them out?

bend em back, you'll be fine. Unless we're talking 90°+, then you might be buggered.

EDIT: chill out with the cleaning action. Smooth and gentle, smooth and gentle.

try to staighten them out will a little pair or tweezers. be VERY VERY VERY carefull because they are extrememly delicate and you might break them.

hahah man they are deciieving, they look alot stronger than they are! lol

next time i'll clean them in the air, heheh.

i got it to pop back in thouhg

in case anyone else has this problem....

the best way is to use the tip of a mechanical pencil, just stick the pin into the hollow point and straighten it out.

yea that worked well.

Well i just put the hsf back on the x2 3800.

Temps didn't go down.

I don't know what i'm doing wrong.

That was pretty scary though, i thought i just wasted 400 bucks, lol.

Credit card and bend them back. 😛

One time, at band camp.. Well, actually at the store. A man bought an FX-55, then brought it back because he snapped a pin off..
So he bought another one.
