Crap, every tim eI see a good deal mentioned here for a 20" LCD it is always a widescreen... If I wanted to watch movies on this screen I'd get a TV. If I wanted to multitask on this screen I'd get a dual 19" setup which would give me way more real estate.

I have a Dell 2005fpw and while it has its appeal I really miss the 4:3 screens. I am looking for a solid 20" one now...maybe even 2 of them

Yup - I just want to game and play things at non-retarded looking stretched resolutions. And if I wanted the extra screen, like you said, I would just go dual monitors somewhere down the line. I just don't like the resolutions of widescreen panels until things atleast start taking advantage or properly supporting. I already have a HDTV for watching widescreen movies.

Man I want this but it'll be painful going from a 20" 4:3 fullscreen to a 20" 16:10 wide 🙁
Maybe it's time for me to wait for a good deal on a 24" wide 🙁

You can disable the stretching so a 4:3 game would have black borders on the sides.

Price now showing as $294.99 shipped, after a $25 IR. Does this LCD support HDCP over DVI? I believe the 2007FPW does, which would make a point in favor of the Dell LCD, for those concerned with HDCP and such.

This doesn't supporty HDCP, but for ~$100 less than what a 2007FPW will cost you, I'm not concerned 😉
