its not listed on pricewatch but it can be found on pricegrabber. this drive has a $10 flash rom to make it a dual burner, and also is upgradeable to dual layer later

Although im not 100% sure, i think the poster mixed up the dw800a with the BenQ DW822A. More info

i assumed that the dw800a is just a crippled dw822a

they have a $10 firmware to upgrade it

there are also posts all over the cd burning sites, about it being upgradeable later on as well.


EDIT... apparently the 822 has 4x dvd-r and 2x dvd-rw

but the 800 upgrade is only to 2x dvd-r and 2x dvd-rw


so who knows . i already bought the drive since i always use + disks, but i hope they get a dvd+r dual layer firmware. supposedly it will be out in a month or 2 if they are going to do it.
