Hey everyone,

I just got a 20" BenQ DV2050 LCD Display BenQ DV2050 Page. I want to try and use it as my primary PC display, although I know that no matter what I do, it won't be the greatest.

I had a GeForce3 Ti200 in my PC previously, and I tried hooking it up through S-Video, but the quality was horrible and the resolution was even worse.
So, I went out and bought a ATI AIW Radeon 9800PRO with YPbPr output and I connected it that way.

Here is what confuses me... my display is a 4:3, but it supports 480p/i, 720p and 1080i. In the Radeon preferences, I checked off those as compatibile resolutions, and now, the resolution that I am using the display on is 1152x648 (which is a 16:9 resolution) and the display looks ok... text is a little unclear (better with ClearType). However, the display looks squished horizontally. When I use a 4:3 resolution, the image is much larger than the frame of my display and I have to navigate the display up/down, left/right by taking my mouse to the edges...

My question: What would be the optimal setup for my computer and this display? I can still return the AIW9800 if it isn't going to be the most optimal card... can I use the GeForce3 anyway?

Sorry for the n00bness!

I'm not really sure, but i can tell you that according to BenQ's specs, that monitor/TV only does 800x600, which is nowhere close to 1080i or 720p

Try setting the resolution to 800x600. Yeah everything's gonna look huge, but as far as i can see, that's the only supported resolution.
