over on the dell 2005FPW thread in the video forum someone was saying benq makes the dell ultrasharp displays.

Is this true?

I can't believe no one has come along yet to point out that it doesn't have DVI. Ooops, I just did, didn't I?

Great deal OP. Some of us just dont need DVI. Personally I do but you know that for a 19" your not getting it. Doesn't make it any less of a good deal.
I might just get it for Christmas for the folks. They have no clue what DVI is so why spend extra on it. 😀
BUMP for a good find

Personally, buying an LCD without DVI is just foolhardy, especially when, I guarantee your next video card WILL have a DVI out and you WILL see a quality diff.

Yes and no. Some (few) monitors have good enough built in adapters that VGA presents virtually no difference (sometimes no difference at all). But I think that is generally with 17" LCDs and only a couple different kinds.

I would be wary of using VGA with this 19" without reading reviews about performance first.

This does look like a great deal on a pretty good 19" LCD.

As for DVI or not... for my main PC setup I'd prefer a 19-20" LCD but don't need DVI since I'm using it with a 4-port KVM+audio switch (2 PCs + work PC) that doesn't support DVI anyway! But I do need a good gaming monitor. Ironically, I have a smaller but fast 17" LCD for my living room, and had to have a DVI input b/c the single VGA output from that PC goes to a projector.

The DVI 12ms BenQ 19" LCD is selling for around $410 from a few other places anyhow and that one has DVI. For a ~$100, that makes a much better gaming monitor.
