They said a couple of torn ligaments. Couple of torn ligaments means torn ACL, which has 12-18 months recovery period.
 
I wonder if the Bengal's owner is 2nd guessing himself over signing Palmer through 2014? 😛

im sure there's a stipulation that says if he gets injured, he gets nothing, or has to pay back some of the bonus.
