Wellness Exam & Doctor's consultation - $45
General Health profile: serum chemisty analysis & full blood count - $88.83
Heartworm antigen test - $43

Presurgical Exam - $45
Ovariohysterectomy - $99
Metecam Injectable - $30
Pre-Surgical Catheter placement - $31
Postop Dog Care Kit - $40
Nolvadet(4oz bottle) - $30.02
External Mass Removal small - $167
Histopathology - 134.70
Dental Ultrasonic Scaling/polishing - $50

This is all an estimate for a potential spaying of my chihuahua & the bloodwork beforehand. This doesn't include the $175 for today's checkup & shots. Once this is over, that's it. I pay 10% for my own medication, & a $10 co-pay for every visit. These dogs have always been healthy & I'm wondering about the need for all this. Visits every 6 months, a booster here & there, blood tests, cleanings. They don't need this much. They hate the whole ordeal more then anything.

Just let them die.

This thread reminded me how my mom had to get some procedure done by a proctologist.. the problem is the doctor was my good friend's dad. My mom doesn't know this and neither does the doctor, and my friend will never hear of it.

Anything that HAS to be included should never be separately listed. It should all be in one line item: Surgery.

Like, why give the price for a catheter insertion? Can they maybe let you do it and just charge for the parts and no labor?

Just one of many reasons not to have pets. Or get them from the ASPCA after they've already been spayed/neutered.

She's healthy & fine. This is just to get her tubes tied. No bloodly mess around the house. Less chance of cancer later on. No puppies crapping everywhere. Half the stuff they're charging, should be included in the one charge. How are we suppose to do the life work of Bob Barker if normal people can't even afford it?!

My next dog, once I get a bigger place, will be a 2-3yr old with all the trimmings & add-on packages. I'll feed it, it'll take a dump in the back yard, & it'll find something more constructive to do then lick itself.
