Can anyone tell me where to get some good benchmarking software?

Well, the BEST would be any real world game that includes a demo and a frame rate counter like Unreal Tournament (D3D) and Quake 3 Arena (OpenGL). Synthetic benchmarks to get would be 3dMark 200 (madonion.com) and sisoft sandra (sisoftware.co.uk/sandra)
