Benchmark tests?

How do I test my system that I just built? I want to run some standardised tests and compare the results.

3DMARK is a good place to start.

If you have games like Doom3 or FEAR you can run the built-in benchmarks.

I have heard about this one a lot. And there are many versions available. Is it worth buying? Is it useful in the future also. Or should I just use a trial version. Is there any merit in buying the advanced ... more expensive variant? Please answer as many q's as u can😱

its free unless you want some of the advanced options which are IMHO useless.
