My Aunt works doing production for shows. She gets to meet a lot of performers. She's been doing it for a while so knows a lot and gets hired for a lot of big productions.

Anyway, she did one for Ben Harper a few months back. She had actually never heard him before but knew I liked some of his stuff. She talked to him a bit back stage and said "I've never heard you before but liked the show quite a bit. But I have a nephew who is a Captain in the Army and he likes you." They talked a bit and he said he wanted to send some stuff. So she gave him her address.

Of course, she thought he was just being nice and never expected anything. Well, recently a box arrived and in it was every CD he had ever made, and about 10 different Ben Harper shirts (different album covers on each), and a card saying "To Colleen (my aunt) and Charles (me)". Pretty cool he remembered or thought to do that.

Mr. Harper, if I ever meet you, beer's on me 🙂

That's a good story.. Cool to hear that a big guy like that would go out of his way to get something out to a big fan.

It's easy to be nice to someone face-to-face, and it's easy to promise to do something in the future. But people so often just blow it off once they're not around that person.

 to Ben Harper.
