This pick to me, just screams that he is thanking Carson for his loyalty. Now

Omarosa's work ethic is crazy, she should be somewhere in his administration. This is someone who can get things done...Carson, obviously he is very intelligent and capable, so we will see how he does. He lacks the energy of Omarosa though.

But he knows his pyramids.

Control freaks like Trump don't want smart independent thinkers under him pointing out to him how self centered and narrow minded his thinking is. He wants people that he can take credit from without them making a fuss about it. He's the kind of guy that demands sacrifices from those around him because they are after all, there to please and feed his ego.

Carson is a perfect match for Trump. He'll turn him into a stooge and a firewall fall guy to take the brunt of any screw up's that Trump creates in that Dept. Like Chris Christie, he'll throw anybody under the bus to save his own hide, because that's what they're there for.

It's just business, you see.

of all the people in this country that actually have experience in federal and/or state housing authorities.

Let's give the job to a heart surgeon.

yeah, that makes sense.

What ever happened to Heart Surgeon?

Every freaking pick has been damn questionable. I really am fearing his SCOTUS pick which is coming. Maybe he'll go with Dana White the UFC CEO? or the duck hunt guy?

I don't remember Obama and bush's picks being anything like this.

well, the SCOTUS is very important to many conservatives so I have a feeling Trump will defer to them based on the list he has already provided. Or, he may just wake up one day from his twittering and decide to nominate Judge Judy or Judge Reinhold because he can.

Already forgotten about Bolton? Rove, Cheney and Wolfowitz? John Yoo? Gale Norton? Alberto Gonzales? Kindasleazy Rice?

We're currently not that far from the Dubya version of 'change.'

technically, he was a neurosurgeon, and a pretty excellent one at that. But he still thought the pyramids in egypt were grain silos for joseph, so DERP.

It's somewhat of a misconception that he was excellent. He's one of those guys who labors more to attach his name to anything he could, enough media contacts he probably had an agent, so laymen tend to overperceive his brand.

Trump picked Carson IMO because he's not politically connected. HUD has been a hotbed of profiteering going back to at least as early as the Reagan administration. The best person for the job is one with no ties to developers, community organizers and the political elite. Trump has made a great choice. The point of HUD is to benefit the people, not nurture a climate of cronyism.

Trump can pick anyone and you'd reliably parrot the AM radio take on the matter. This makes anything that can possibly drool out of your mouth uninteresting except to mock. For example trying to argue the biggest possible crony is anti-cronyism, hahahahah.

Why are you people amazed that the guy with no political or civil service experience is giving the HUD appointment to a guy with no political or civil service?

There is a middle ground between #drainingtheswamp and #careerpoliticians.... right?

This is the barely literate dunning kruger crowd we're talking about; they can't conceive of thinking type jobs where complex skill/competence has bearing on the outcome.

Here is Doctor Ben Carson stating that eating tree bark cured his cancer. He later stated that he only had his now perfectly healthy prostate removed as a role model to others. He is either a cuckoo bird or just another scum salesman.

He is a "great choice" for a straight jacket and some Thorazine but that's about it. He'll be very easy for everyone to manipulate.

Trump Taps Ben Carson For Secretary Of Housing And Urban Development

...

Carson in no way is qualified to run the agency other than he supported Trump.

Not sure what other comment to make other than it should be an confirmation hearing..
I'm not sure but something tells me we've seen these kinds of appointments before from another Republican administration....hmmm?

Let's clean up that corruption by hiring someone who shilled for scam pyramid schemes and whose campaign was basically a giant fundraising scam!

Can't beat that logic.

"Ben Carson is first HUD Sec to have actually lived in gov't housing. Fancy Nancy Pelosi says he's not qualified; is she racist or just dumb"
It's still hard to believe this is the level of discourse we get these days.
