beloved patriot in China's armor - HK throwing down the gaunlet

The process is they declare something (independence) and then the Chinese army ends the charade.

Hong Kong is part of China now. There never has been democracy there, the current vote offered is actually more than the British ever offered (and the British snuffed out protests over the years as well). Because some in HK have decided (correctly) that voting for a choice of people that Beijing chooses is not true democracy, they have decided to protest.

So far, China has not been intervening and is allowing the local police and government to handle it. That is the normal pattern in China today when local trouble flares up (there have been villages and areas that throw the local party out - usually over land right issues).

The protestors are showing remarkable courage right now in face of potential direct intervention from China.

I am not sure what solution the government can come up with. There is a certain amount of animosity inside China towards HK to begin with as well.

Maybe Hong Kong should just join Taiwan. So what's the process for a Chinese territory to secede? Is it similar to the process we recently saw in the UK? /s

No can do.

Commie china is threatning that if Taiwan ever declares full independence, it will attack.

No can do as Scotland a few weeks ago. See what happend at Tianamen Square in 1989.

LOL... Hong Kong police are saying that violent protesters injured some police with umbrellas. I wonder if they were the spring opening ones?

@OP

Aren't you worried that the things you post will get you thrown in jail?

From the info you provided, I'm betting it wouldn't be hard to identify you given China's resources, and while I don't know much about China, I've heard of people speaking out being imprisoned.

he is probably using ultrasurf.

The chinaman is not the issue here, Dude. I'm talking about drawing a line in the sand, Dude. Across this line, you DO NOT... Also, Dude, chinaman is not the preferred nomenclature. Asian-American, please.
:awe:

What about Chinese living in other Countries? You think they all the term Asian-"Country's name" to refer to their Asians?

You missed the joke...

But I hate it when British people call people from India, Pakistan, and the Middle East "Asian". It's technically right, but I'm so used to associating Asian with eastern Asia that it blows my mind🙂.

According to one of my Chinese friends, the whole problem is being caused by Dan Garrett of the CIA.

Ahh.. I didn't notice that he was from HK. The last something like this happened, the Chinese government ordered the military to kill everyone in the riots. Dead people can't protest.

my trip may be cancel if this isn't solve.. so basically my friend is getting married.

todays email says, I waited 32 years to get married and these people are f-cking things up.. - typical bridezilla

So apparently its so bad, taxi and trains wont go to the central area where the protest is happening.. no one can get around and they been off from work for 2 weeks now. She's in Taiwan hanging out, partying.

rsutoratosu, no offense but your friend's fiancée sounds like a bitch.

Hong Kong has more freedom of speech (as of today) than the US. People can talk shit at the Police and not get their skull cracked. However, I am quite disappointed by some of colleagues who are undermining the protest because the protestors are giving them a hard time. They are being used by the commies and they don't even know about it, it is quite sad.

p.s. I am a US citizen. If the commies take over HK, I am coming back to the states.

Gee who would have ever thought Red China would renege on it's promise of 50 years noninterference with internal Hong Kong politics (except for issues of national security).

But they never will break the promises they have made to US corporations, right?

Good luck to the people of Hong Kong.

The Queen should send in the fleet.

Just get married in Taiwan, problem solved

no not problem solve, when you book hotels in advance, bus, shuttles, venues, you're looking at 20k usd for large weddings.. if it was your 20k, you be pissed too

I booked 5 airline tickets to hk at 1200 a piece. who's going to refund that to me ? no one.

when its your money you get pissed, when its other people's money no one cares.. that's how the world is.. ill probably still go and join the protest and get shot.. hahah

that's why I used the word bridezilla.. all bridezilla are complete psycho bitches

Before you get shot, you should take a picture with the bride and groom in front of the tank as its rolling over protesters....That would be EPIC!!!!

My GF didn't know until like a year or so ago. Apparently, in Philippines, it is common to describe things that look Chinese as 'chinky'. She said something to me once about it, and I was like "wow, that is incredibly racist", just jokingly. Her parents say that shit all the time (they are still fobs after years of being here...).
I don't understand "FOB" in this context. People keep saying it's racist. Philippines are our SE Asia Forward Operating Base because they let us set up military operations there and we never left? Is that what it means?

They want Freedom! Good on them!
I hope this doesn't turn into a bloodbath.
At least they have the balls to be out there.
Mainland China people aren't very happy, either.

The government paid the triads to assault the protestors today. The crowds in Mong Kok and Causeway Bay were assaulted and groped. Bunch of low life mother fuckers, and the government is sponsoring it.

Really fuck the Chinese, these people are hopeless.

How do you know this? I'd like to see the news article. I just thought that they were fed up business owners whose business was tanking due to the blocked off traffic.

There are a bunch of high profile goon leaders:

If any of the above mother fuckers show up, it means it's a government sponsored job.
