So we found this little guy out on the night of Christmas (25th). It was about 9PM and in the high 40s outside. It didn't want to leave and I didn't have the heart to leave it out in the cold for the rest of the night. It looks to be about 4 weeks old.

Day after Christmas, I went shopping like many people. Later on, posted fliers around the neighborhood and decide to gave it a bath. Spent roughly $25 on supplies and food. See photos of Day 2. Since my parents are allergic to all pets (including goldfish, yeah WTF?) a friend of a friend is currently looking after it. It appears to be house trained and was very cooperative during the bath. I think it was definitely someone's beloved family member.

Gonna take it to the vet tomorrow for a checkup and possible shots and other tests. This is going to break the bank. I am looking at about $100-$150 in damages.

I am moving to a new place in about 2 weeks to start a new job and I was thinking that perhaps I can keep it since I will be by myself in a new city. I am still debating if this will be a good idea to have it as a companion.

Also, all of us has decided it give it a name so right now it is unnamed. Maybe YOU can help us decide on a name. Btw, I think it is a HE. Will have confirmation tomorrow.

(Sorry, I didn't have a camera on Day 1)

Oh this is all speculative at this point. I think in the time it takes for the creature to get accustomed to the name, the owners would probably have given up looking for it. Trust me, I would rather have the owner come and retrieve it than to either take it in or take it to a shelter.

Looks closer to six or seven weeks. Does does person keeping it have any other cats? If so, it might be best to isolate the kitten from them to avoid passing on worms/mites/diseases until you get it checked out by the vet. Very cute kitten!

The cat is currently isolated from other animals. The person keeping it has two dogs in the garage. I gave it a bath because:

1. It's been wandering outside for some time and it was dusty
2. It didn't smell bad but I was hoping it would smell better after a bath
3. I wanted to see its temperament during the bath to see how it tolerates water as well as how disciplined it was before

Btw, it has not meowed at all since we found it. Does that mean there's something wrong with it?

How can your parents be allergic to goldfish?!??

Name it Toto, after that cat in the yellow brick road.

Jingles is a good choice.
Because of when you found him, Claus, as in both Santa and claws.

Also, names that begin or end in 's' are great for cats -- they react well to that sybilant sound.

Okay I added more names. Thanks for the tip on a name ending with the letter "s". Isn't Toto a dog rather than a cat? I don't know if I want to name a male cat Lucy. Although I've heard of males named Ashley. What is OPP? Yes my parents suck!
