dunno if this is hot or not or has been posted but bellsouth has reduced their monthly dsl prices. these are not introductory prices, but rather permanant prices...

FastAccess DSL Lite - Up to 256Kbps/128Kbps - is now 24.95/month (used to be 34.95)
FastAccess DSL Ultra - Up to 1.5Mbps/256Kbps - is now 32.95/month (used to be 49.95)
FastAccess DSL Xtreme - Up to 3.0Mbps/384Kbps - is no 42.95/month (not sure what it used to be)....

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://www.fastaccess.com/content/consumer/products.jsp"><a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="https://www.fastaccess.com/content/consumer/products.jsp">https://www.fastaccess.com/content/consumer/products.jsp</a></a>

edit:
as has been pointed out by many in this thread, if you are a current customer they will not automatically adjust your price, you have to call in yourself and get your bills adjusted to the new prices...

...They've been that way for a month now. Don't forget to add $2.97 "Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee".

Still not as decent as SBC dsl pricing, but good deal I suppose for those who only have bellsouth dsl available to them.

i think those prices are for new customers only

current customers have to call in and request for the new pricing.
the "recovery fee"sucks. total comes out to like $47 with tax.

nah.... i called and asked for the new lower price.... went from $52 to $42

like i said. they're for new customers, and current customers only get it if they call in asking for it.

Those "scum sucking pigs"!! ( a direct quote from One Eyed Jacks.) Will give it to an existing customer only if you ask for it. I called a couple of weeks ago and they gave me the reduced price. No wonder people hate the utility companies. Would switch to Cable Broadband except for 2 reasons:

1. The local cable company for years had a "you can kiss our rears 'cause we're the only game in town, and we are gonna hose you because we are the only game in town", and

2. Now on a street where there is no cable!!

Called today and they lowered it no problems.
Crappy thing is that they will not lower it until you actually call and request it. Seems like complete Bull Sh!t to me, but hey it is BellSouth after all.
Thanks again OP for the info!

This is what COMCAST needs to do instead of uping the bandwidth every month and then charging a dollar or two more.
