Belkin Wireless Card Troubles--Are they dumb or am I???

Just bought a Belkin wireless card for my gf's laptop (model 6020 ver.2...and yeah yeah, I should have known not to buy it when I saw it came from Compton :frown😉

Anyway, She is running Win98 SE, and I swear they have no driver support. None on the CD, none on their website. There is a stupid install program, but no .inf of any sort. How on earth can I get this thing installed? I tried on my Win XP machine and the same problem. Without an .inf, Windows seems to refuse to install the damn thing.

Now, I have a hard time believing that Belkin would ship a prosuct that NOBODY could use, so there must be some solution.

Any ideas?

Believe it or not, no, they dont work. There is not a driver per se in there. No .inf of any sort. Just a crappy install program that doesn't do the job. But like I said, I have a hard time believing that nobody who bought this product can use it. There must be anther way to get it done.

I have the Belkin card on my laptop and it works great. You need to install the software first, then plug in the card. The inf file is installed by the software.

I have the same problem w/ one of these I have. ??? No drivers available on their website. Anyone out there who has a fix?

I have a similiar problem with one of my friend's wireless card from d-link. I installed the software, then when I plug in the card, the card don't even show that the card has power. Its not detected and all that... What's wrong ?

Tried the card on a different laptop and it works fine. I'm sure the pcmcia slot is working coz I tried it with different cards. The OS is WinXP. Anybody got any clue ?
