Greetings all !

At my local OfficeMax (OM) store they have Belkin UPSes on sale. They are "unadvertised", so this may be regional or just great luck for me. The 325VA model is ringing up $19.99 (reg. $49.99) and the more expensive one (500VA model) is ringing up for $39.99 (reg. $79.99).

Here is the info (SKUs and part #'s from the website).

500VA UPS/Regulator Pro
Item # 20041919 , Style # F6C500-USB

325VA UPS/Regulator Pro
Item # 20041964 , Style # F6C325-SER

I do not know when this deal will end or if it is regional or not. I am in Southern California if it helps.

Take care,
ChunkyBarf

EDIT: Read the bottom post. I believe this deal is DEAD now. I will let yuou all know if anything different develops. Sorry everyone.

Damn that would be a good deal. Online the price is $89.99 Belkin UPS

Might Have to go to OM and see if this is good up in N. CA....I got in on the deal that was at Staples for $14.60...so I don't know if I need another, heck you can never have too much power....

Hey Chunky,

Any chance you can scan that receipt and post it and/or send me a copy? If so, it would be much appreciated.

Also like to know what UPC/SKU is listed on the receipt and which store did you pick 'em up at?

Thanks!

I found them at my local OD-- all dusty and on the top shelf. They still wanted regular price. I made them put them back.

I wonder if my local OM carries these.

Anyone else have any luck or going to give it a look?

I found 'em at my local OM, but they wanted 49.99 and 79.99 for 'em.

Chunky, you've got PM re:the store you purchased from and SKU or UPC from the receipt.

Thanks!

Argh !

Bad news everyone. When I went in to buy one on Friday night they were ringing up full retail. I suspect the store found the pricing glitch and corrected it. Unfortunately, I was never able to buy one, otherwise I would make you all a copy of a receipt. I got called by my friend on Thursday afternoon about them and my pal set some aside for me, but when I went in Friday night to buy them they were ringing up full price. I will keep my eyes out though...maybe it was an advance of Sunday's ad or something?!? I dunno. I told my buddy working there to keep me posted. I will do the same...until then....I would consider this deal dead. :(

Thanks and let's hope for the best !

First you say :

Then when someone asks for a receipt scan you say:
Bad news everyone. When I went in to buy one on Friday night they were ringing up full retail. I suspect the store found the pricing glitch and corrected it. Unfortunately, I was never able to buy one, otherwise I would make you all a copy of a receipt.

So which is it? Good luck for you , as in you bought one? Good luck you couldnt buy one? You posted Friday noon - but left ... went back and tried to buy one Friday night?

When did rumor become a "hot deal" ?

Try having your facts straight before you post.

Seems like a growing Anandtech trend...phantom deals that nobody else can ever find.

Sept1967:

let me clarify, tell me if you still do not understand after this post.

1. My friend (who works at OMax) called me Thrusday night to let me know that when he was cashiering at the register a customer purchased a UPS and it rang up "on sale". There is no mentioning on these UPSes as being "on sale" in the ad or anything like that. He thought it was odd that it would ring up so low, but figured "Hey, I won't argue with the inventory system". He then called me and let me know about the UPSes ringing up on sale.

2. I say "good luck for me" as in "I am lucky that I have a friend who would tell me the good deal and let me in on it". However, I could not get to OMax Thurs night.

3. I posted the deal on Friday afternoon for others to partake in it. However, I did warn AHEAD of time that this could be regional or a glitch of some sort. There is no mention of these UPSes as being "officially on sale" in any literature I saw on the officemax.com website nor in the ad flier.

4. When I went in to my OMax Friday night (about 4 hours after the post) the UPSes that I had held for me behind the counter all rang up full price (so I did not purchase them).

I am not a liar, nor a scammer, nor a guy trying to lead people on. If someone could benefit from the deal, then great. I made no promises. It is no "rumor", my friend was there cashiering and saw the price himself and then went and scanned the more expensive one (sure enough, it was "on sale" too). He did not believe it initially, but sure enough, the proof is in the pudding.

If that does not make sense, then let me know and I will clarify more as best as I can. I do fully intend on keeping everyone posted though. I told my friend to scan the price first thing every time he goes in to work. I figure there is a remote chance that the glitch occured because they really will go on sale in the near future (i.e. a data-entry clerk in corporate mistyped a date into the inventory/pricing computer system).

Take care,
ChunkyBarf

ChunkyBarf don't sweat it. I was @ OM today took a look for the Belkin 325VA, they had 4 boxes~! I really don't have a use for one but I love a "Hot Deal" just as much as the next guy.

Anyway I asked them to scan it for me. He said you must have heard about it being $19, said that it was a glitch and that corporate had fixed the problem on Friday.

So this deal did really exist but few if any got one.

Thanks for the heads up on it though. :)
