Belkin UPS?

I'm looking to purchase a UPS, and I saw these Belkin UPSes for sale (starting tomorrow) at OfficeMax for $40. Anyone use one of these before? My other UPS is a APC, but much to my chagrin, I can't find one on sale (much less a 500VA one for $40).

Oh, and for the record, I was going to buy one of each--the 500VA for my server (Celeron Tualatin with 2 HDDs), and the 350VA to run my 19" CRT.

Comments/suggestions welcome! Thanks in advance.

I have gotten good service out of my Belkin UPS. The original battery lasted about 3.5 years. I actually prefer it to the APC I am now using.

I've been using a Belkin UPS for 2+ years. The power around here is very unreliable - many 10-second outages. The Belkin has worked admirably.

I use a 650VA Belkin UPS with my desktop (Athlon, 3 HDD), 19" CRT and a few miscellaneous devices (such as my alarm clock).

Auto shutdown is a _very_ useful feature. I use WinXP so can't testify to Linux compatibility.

Thanks for the input, guys. I guess I will pick up one or two of these.... I think $40 (no rebate hassle!) is a decent price for a 500-VA UPS. 🙂
