This Wireless Router is at best buy this week at $69.99 with a $60 rebate, but there is 10% coupon i got in the mail that others prolly got also for presidents day sale. This makes the item $62.99-$60 rebate. Pretty good reviewed router.

Its on the first page of this weeks Best Buy Flyer. Enjoy

Are there open source drivers for this thing also? Seems I heard one of the belkins had that option.

I got this router for Christmas. It was super easy to set up - it must have been since I managed to do it on the first try. Performance has been perfect since.

The Belkin Router has a better review then the Netgear. I was interested in the netgear for the same price but i reviewed and found the Belkin product to be a lot better. Now i need a good deal on some of those USB wireless cards. Will be looking around I know Comp USSR has them for 9.99 sometimes.

The one nice thing about Belkins is that they have a lifetime warranty as opposed to Netgear's 3 month, and Linksys' 6 month. (At least this was when I bought mine - same exact model of Belkin - ~1 year ago).

I like the Belkin better since it was the two antennas. I've had both the Netgear 614 and 624 and the Belkin, and the range on the Belkin was much better. It should also be configurable as an access point, if that's what you need.

I have a D-Link 524 now, though, because I wanted to use an external antenna and none of the routers just mentioned would allow that. ;)

It's been over a year now and Belkin still hasn't fixed the problem in v4 routers where they drop packets like a mofo when in bridge mode. They're still worthless for use with streaming from ReplayTVs.

On mine it does, but I still use 128-bit WEP because I still have a 802.11b card.

On a different note, I am glad everyone is having good luck with this router. I have had several dropped signals when I setup the F5D7230-4 in my parent's house. I got on the CompUSA deal a while back and I picked up a USB 802.11g adapter as well. Both are not the best for signal and quality, but they do work.

Also, I recently purchased the CC laptop deal this week that came with the F5D7230-4 for free after rebate. I opened the box and immediately noticed that the new one was much smaller. Anyone else notice this?

What reviews (links)? I have to report the opposite. A Client of mine had a belking g router and even with all kinds of tricks we got it only to -67db signal level (at the other side of the house), which was marginal at best. I popped in the WGR624, and even without any tweaking the signal level went right up to -57db - MUCH better.

The other downside is the risk in the rebate amount ($60) and the chances for it not getting paid out or delays. I prefer the staples deal, as there is only a $30 rebate on the line and they make it really easy to submit the rebates online and often pay within 3 weeks or so.

I got this item today. Signal is less than my Dlink 624, but other than that it works fairly well. I've never had a problem with rebates from Belkin. I've received all 5 of my rebates from them in the past. And i've never really had any problems receiving my rebates because I've always had some sort of tracking # as proof that they received it and I've always made copies. With Tigerdirect.... well it's a different story.

There are actually 2 rebates to this item - good luck with the UPC code-less one - every other one of those seems to go awry for me :(

As something that "may" actually be useful in this thread. many of these 7230-4 routers can be flashed with modded firmware, and upgraded to be the 7231-4 or 108Mb versions! Google it.
Worked great here.

Supposedly this has been fixed with an a new firmware. I don't have replay TV to test with though. Broadbandreports.com belkin forum has info...

Yes there is a new 4.05.03 firmware out. People are talking about it on AVS and they have links to the firmware files etc. I have not tested it yet myself as I only have pre-1444 units and no particular reason to attempt the "upgrade".
