? Origin of Universe and Life
The Bible's account is symbolic. God created and controls the processes that account for the universe and life (e.g. evolution), as continually revealed by modern science.

I specificly stated that I was for the "big bang" and evolution was on its own, where it came up with that is beyond me.

The top two certainly make sense for me. Secular Humanism is a subset of atheism (just as Catholicism is subset of Christianity). Secular Humanism says that we have an obligation to advance human society through deeds and actions, since our environment and ourselves are all that is - a godless universe - and only we can improve our situation. Faith in the supernatural is misplaced and a waste of human resources and effort. Pure atheism, OTOH, is simply a lack of beliefs.

The Unitarian Universalist organization, while not a true atheist organization, has no creeds or mandated faith systems...even some of their "religious leaders" claim to be nonbelievers. They view institutional religions as examples of human culture and traditions and not necessarily truisms. They celebrate Hanukah, Christmas and Kwanzaa during the month of December, for example.

Mine was dead on too. I'm an ELCA Lutheran, which is a Liberal Protestant church.

Hah, yeah yeah...I know Duke is a Methodist school, although a Latter-day Saint did go to Duke a few years back to play basketball. Heck, there is one on the team now anyway.

BYU is okay. Don't see a need to go to it though. There seems to be some sort of rivarly between University of Utah and BYU though...
