CARACAS, Venezuela ? The American singer and activist Harry Belafonte called President Bush "the greatest terrorist in the world" on Sunday and said millions of Americans support the socialist revolution of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez.

Belafonte led a delegation of Americans including the actor Danny Glover and the Princeton University scholar Cornel West that met the Venezuelan president for more than six hours late Saturday. Some in the group attended Chavez's television and radio broadcast Sunday.

"No matter what the greatest tyrant in the world, the greatest terrorist in the world, George W. Bush says, we're here to tell you: Not hundreds, not thousands, but millions of the American people ... support your revolution," Belafonte told Chavez during the broadcast.

The 78-year-old Belafonte, famous for his calypso-inspired music, including the "Day-O" song, was a close collaborator of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and is now a UNICEF goodwill ambassador. He also has been outspoken in criticizing the U.S. embargo of Cuba.

Chavez said he believes deeply in the struggle for justice by blacks, both in the U.S. and Venezuela.

"Although we may not believe it, there continues to be great discrimination here against black people," Chavez said, urging his government to redouble its efforts to prevent discrimination.

LOL No suprise that Danny Glover is there.

Belafonte also called Colin Powel, the highest ranking black offical ever, a house slave.

😉

I PM'ed the Mod account to have this thread moved there, my bad! 😱

Nice to see the trolls have arrived in this thread.

Belafonte is an idiot, and should just stick to singing, not that I know anyone who listens to his music anyways. Calling Bush a terrorist is a bit extreme, although some of you don't approve of the job he's done. That I can understand, but a terrorist? :disgust:

Just ask those Iraqi civilians that Bush attacked for no reason.

Oh, that's right. You can't ask them. They're dead.

Terrorists kill innocent people, right? What did all those Iraqi civilians do to deserve this. If your answer is nothing then to them Bush is a terrorist just the same as bin Laden is for killing all of those innocent Americans who did nothing to him.

I don't know of a war in history, where there were no civilians killed. That's a hazard of the job. I'm sure Bush just said kill everybody in sight....yeah right! 😕

He's an idiot why, just because you disagree with him? Does anyone listen to your music?

After a fashion. His orders have killed tens of thousands more innocent people than Osama bin Laden, for example. Much of the world therefore sees Bush as a terrorist just as much as we see OBL as one. Most of the Western world is unlikely to consider Bush a "terrorist", of course, but "war criminal" ... that's a different story.

Those innocent Iraqi civilians never signed up for "the job", and they posed no threat to the United States. Their deaths could have been avoided. That's why wars must be a last resort.

That's why the "leader of the free world" isn't supposed to tell lies that lead to unprovoked invasions that lead to tens of thousands of dead civilians. Because the "leader of the free world" is supposed to have enough common sense to realize that wars kill civilians.

Maybe the profit incentive made Bush forget. After all, what are a few tens of thousands of innocent civilian lives when there are BILLIONS OF DOLLARS to be made?

Bush is not only a terrorist, he's a war profiteer too.

😉

People have been calling the 'United States' the 'Greatest Terrorist in the World' for the past thirty years . . .

Yep, he's got a nozzle in his pockets, just pumping that money in there. 😉

When did Venezuela become a dictatorship? The CIA fact book says Chavez was elected by popular vote. So does FOX have more up to date info on this, or are they just FOS?

Oh, and as for Belafonte's comment, here is the definition of terrorism. Looks like the arugment hinges on if you belive it is legal to invade another country on false pretences, and if not then our attack on Iraq was clearly an act of terroism.

Herr Bushler isn't the "greatest " anything. He's a lying thieving murdering putz, but he's not the greatest.

And this is more press than Harry Belafonte has received in the last 25 years... good career move. Album sales should soar.

If you look at the definition of a "terrorist" Bush fits right in, plenty others do as well but that. However, I do feel that he should stick to singing.
