I'd like to see that "constitutionalist" gets butt-raped and then come crying to the cop for protection.

I really hate idiots like those that think they're smarter than everyone, and always trying to prove a point that no one asked for. The irony is that if they're really smart, they wouldn't be doing stupid shits like that.

50% of the comments so far are people who didn't take the time to watch the video but felt the need to insult the guy.

Intelligence of ATOT on display once again.

shrug I watched it and he's a prick. The cop was very cool and professional. The douchetard's sole purpose for being out there was to antagonize the cops. Waste of time and resources. Fucker should go out and get a job instead.

We all know a lot of cops abuse their power.

It's best to minimize dealings with them.....no need to be a prick.

And let's face it, we have no rights.....as Carlin said, we have a list of temporary privileges that can be and ARE taken away at anytime.

He's just trying to make the cop look like a monkey. He does have to be federally licensed to sell ammunition. He knows this and is being a dick trying to get the cop to do something for the camera. Cop doesn't seem to be sure on the law though and is looking foolish. He should just call for his supervisor.

I watched a few minutes of the video. The cop approached the guy and tried to harass him, he stood up for himself.

Are these the dicks that hoard ammo, wait in lines and buy all of it, then turn around and resell it at 2-4x the cost because now everywhere is out after they bought it all.... fuck them.

As the the topic, i hate people that try and bully a conversation and not let the other person speak, especially when they ask questions, demand answers, but never shut the fuck up.

I have no idea what their state laws are for selling ammo; but, seems like he's a dick to the cop all around. not for refusing to answer questions, but for just being a dick and very abrasive with out necessity. i heard security guards were involved in the beginning, if this is private property and the owner wants them gone, why are they still there??

Because they were on public property.

It really was kinda funny how dumbfounded that cop was. If they weren't breaking the law then why is the law even approaching them? Selling ammunition isn't something I would care about as a police officer. If this was california there were probably illegals on the next corner selling chicken cooked on a shopping cart converted to a grill anyway. I'm sure the state health codes for food service would have something to say about that. Why not go shut them down? Instead they're hassling the white guy who's doing something he's legally allowed to do.

I hate smug self-righteous people who set up situations like that for youtube hits though. They're the worst kind of attention whore. Listening to that guy trying to talk down the officer was annoying as hell. You could clearly tell he was being as curt and abrasive as possible to incite a more sensational response. It's repugnant and disingenuous.

This is false, but the guy was a dick and I wouldn't have minded if the cop cited him for disturbing the peace or something just to waste the dude's time. I'm a civil libertarian by nature but guys like this just irritate the piss out of me.

I am mystified by people who make it their business to be confrontational and rude to the police. I am not excusing police misconduct, but treating anyone with a gun and a badge with such contempt is just stupid, self-destructive behavior. This "salesman" is a complete jackass.

Except the cop confronted him.

Exactly how was this self-destructive?

The cop "confronted" him because he was engaged in bizarre, illegal behavior (it is illegal under the Eureka city ordinances to sell merchandise on the sidewalk without a permit). He was doing his job.

I consider it self-destructive to talk to police this way because they are armed individuals with the authority of the law. I wouldn't talk that way to anyone with a gun, whether it was a police officer or my drunken neighbor. Aggravating an armed person is intrinsically hazardous. In this case the officer showed restraint and professionalism, but I would frankly find it understandable if he had taken this guy's bait and gotten into an argument. Arguments can and do escalate into violence. None of that would excuse the officer's behavior if this confrontation ended with the "salesman" being whacked over the head with a baton, but if that happened I would say the "salesman" deserved a share of the blame.

If you don't think this guy (and others like him) was purposely fishing for a police interaction, then I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. I have no idea why the cop was on the scene, but most likely someone called the police and reported strange behavior and the cop was dispatched to see what was going on. I take issue with the word "confront" as it obviously means different things to different people. What I saw was a cop approach and immediately be accosted by the douchebag who was more interested in making his video than allowing the cop to speak. If you consider that "confronting" this poor citizen, then I suppose that is your interpretation of the word.

Like others, I am very libertarian and am not 'pro-cop.' I fully support people that pull out a camera to film police interactions while such interactions are happening (as opposed to douches that troll around fishing for an interaction so they can film and later sue), but this conduct of purposely wasting department resources is reprehensible. I am 100% behind flexing your rights, but that does not mean creating the situation yourself so that you have an opportunity to flex such rights.
