so i read on a time magazine ( i think) long ago that computer gaming is said to affect your behavior. In a nutshell, shorter attention span, social problems, short temper and many others. Why?

and

read and find out.

I dont expect anyone to really read that. Its a huge chunk of text. But just if your curious why sometimes people talk so much trash online....I cant finnish this post since its late and i have to sleep. But i will update it and explain why studies are just now cmming in on side effects of gaming (and computer usuage overall). And i will also explain why people are short tempered. Or hoefuly i can try to explain it. Dont think its one of those "violent games make you violent" post. It isnt and i wont sound like a parent, just going to simply tell you some facts and info.

Thanks :disgust:

IMO it has nothing to do with games, it's just that modern medicine and product warnings are allowing stupid people to live longer lives, often breeding frequently and spreading those Einstein genes... People who ten years ago were too busy pulling legs off of flies and watching WWF wrestling to bother anyone are now on the internet and all hell is breaking loose. The situation isnt' helped by the plethora of little kids online with no parental supervision. I remember someone acting the way you describe in EQ, where it used to be unheard of but is sadly becoming the norm, and after 20 questions it turns out he's 12 and his father was too busy with his 19y/o stepmother to do any parenting :|

There's nothing wrong with having short attention span. It forces people around you to either be more interesting, or risk being ignored. It's worked well for me for 21 years so far.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of uppers, downers, laughers, screamers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls. Not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge, and I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.
