A top end gaming mouse with an extremely high USB polling rate can use an excessive amount of CPU time. No idea if it's related but that's my guess when you said that the keyboard and 360 controller didn't have the issue.

Try it. Swap in a spare HD, load up 7, and test it. Doesn't cost anything but time to try it.

Just did.. waiting for origin to download Crysis 3 since that game is the most demanding I have.

Will post back. My gut tells me windows 8 is the culprit. I only had the second 780ti for a day on windows 7 before I installed 8. I played briefly but didnt notice any issues until after I had windows 8 going and got my 4k which obviously began to stress my system.

Windows 7 is no different. I can frame cap at any fps that I am capable of maintaining, even tried 30 fps and have smooth frame delivery but without the frame cap mouse movement is jerky.

Doesn't matter which mouse I use either.

Tried 3 different ones.

SLI results in jerky mouse movement without a frame cap yet xbox 360 controller and keyboard input is fine.

If you turn up the sensitivity on the 360 controller does it still do it?

It may have been youtube, but EVERY input mehtod looked jittery to my eyes. The jitters are just spaced more evenly on the 360 controller and keyboard because of the fixed movement rate.

What happens if you set a frame cap at 45 fps and drop resolution down to 1080p? Could just be a 4k issue.

Try forcing Crysis 3 to leave 1 core on your 4770K free.

Try disabling HT.

Try disabling your overclock if you have one.

Troubleshooting sucks D:

I would actually suggest you install Razor's software for the mouse. And then go into the settings and calibrate it. It made a noticeable difference for me anyway in the way my mouse (Razor Imperator) reacts. The dual sensor mice are very particular about being calibrated.

EDIT: Oh, and turn down the polling rate to 600. At least in BF4, 1000 causes weirdness. And i figure 600 is divisible by 60. So the polling may sync up better.

Is it only Crysis 3? What other games do it? Some games are just smoother than others with SLI. Personally I wouldn't care if Crysis 3 never ran again on my rig.

Lava, I didnt read through the whole thread, so if this has been mentioned please ignore. I had the same problem with select game with GTX 680 SLI and my logitech G9X. I had to go into the mouse software and turn the polling rate down below 200. It is a known issue with mice that have extreme polling rates.

With my G400 I have to use 500 or some games are unplayable. 1000 is no go.

not just Crysis.

I'm just gonna dump a card anyway I think. Not worth the headache. I think the value is going to drop off a cliff soon anyway

I was just about to ask if it was only Crysis, I had the same issue in all 3 games with polling and GTX 680 SLI. I wish that simply reducing the polling rate would help you out. Sorry man that sucks.

You try this yet OP?

And why is it that the more cash you spend on hardware, the more insane the issues you have become?

Yes I tried changing the polling rate. Does not fix it.

People seem to overlook that I've tried 3 different mice, 2 monitors, 2 completely different OS's, a game pad(fixes it), many different drivers, Dvi, display port, mini display port, bios's. You name it.

have tried just about everything. The only thing left is basically to try the cards in a different system. After that I give up and sell a card.

Even though a frame cap fixes it, I'm not gonna compromise with $1400 in graphics cards.

I had the same problem until I ditched my $80 Logitech rat and bought a $5 Labtec rodent. Sometimes you don't get what you pay for, know what I'm sayin'?

Use only a gamepad then problem solved! $1400 in graphics cards alone, 4K monitor, but can ONLY use a gamepad or you get horrible microstutter. Just lol.....

That's the definition of being trolled :(. I feel bad for you man, I hate it when I get issues like this. The fix is never logical either. It's always something like "Unplug monitor, unplug mouse, wait 2-3 seconds (no longer!!!!) plug in mouse first, then monitor as quickly as humanly possible. Enjoy 60 seconds of no microstutter before problem resurfaces. No known fix."

It seems that polling rate could have something to do with it but changing that has no impact. But if it truly does, then why does a frame cap fix it?

It sucks that I can't truly capture it in video cause it seriously could make you vomit seeing it in real life.

I feel you man.

I bought 4 x R9 290x to use on 3 x 1440p monitors and AMD drivers have issues with Display Port Output + CrossFire.

So I end up only using 2 cards and one monitor.

So I have 2 x 290x with blocks and 2 x 1440p monitors not being used like I want to.

2 x 290x = 1300$
2 x Blocks and backplates = 350$
2 x 1440p monitors = 850$

 :(
