BEFSR41

My dad has two computers currently sharing an internet connection. I want to buy him a simple yet effective router/switch. Was looking at the BEFSR41 since there is a ton of them for sale in these forums. Are they good, what revision(s) should I avoid? I want to stay with Linksys since I'm already familiar with their setup.

Yeah they are Good, nothing change in this technology (wire only) in the last couple of years.

However unless you get it for less then $15 you are better off buying a new Wireless Cable/DSL Router, since they go on sale for less then $30.

I need a Wire only Router would should I get?

Wireless is a waste as he will never go that route. I'll spend the $10 more to keep it more simple if possible. I have seen plenty of BEFSR41 routers in the ft/s section anyways.

Having owned both I like the BEFSX41 better but the SR41 is fine. I think the SX41 has more configuration options.

All I need is a plug in and forget firewall that will stay up and running and won't reset itself when the power goes out. He's not doing anything fancy like VPN or DMZ.
