Beer **Update**

I am going to the bar with a friend tonight and was thinking of ordering a beer. I have tasted it in the past, but it has always tasted nasty. Hard liquors taste find to me, and I enjoy mixed drinks. I was thinking of getting a stout or something because I heard they taste like oatmeal. So are there any non-nasty tasting beers?

**Update**
I didn't go to the bar last night because my friend bailed on me. My dad and I went tonight (Friday) and I had 2 Kiligan(spelling) reds and a margarita on the rocks. I had hamburger and the beer tasted better than the Miller Lite. I got a little tippsy. Later my uncle, my dad and I went to the Moose Lodge and I was only going tro get a couple drinks but my other uncle was there and found out I just turnmed 21 and kept buying me things so I had (in order): 1)Tequila Sunrise (no grenada because they were out -- Okay tasting), 2) Mudslide on the rocks (nasty tating), 3) Tequila shot with salt and lemon (good), 4) Dr. Pepper (beer+armereto -- good), 5) Tequila shot with salt and lemon (not as good as the first), 6) Cranberry juice + Vodka (very good), 7) Dr. Pepper. beer+armereto -- good). All were made heavy upon my uncle's request. I am tippsy now but different than at dinner. My uncle then spent $5 on five tickets they had there and gave me one, he one $202, so he made out plus I bought him a beer.

You are asking the wrong questions. The good tasting beers taste like sh!t to noobs, and the crappy beers usually taste better to noobs.

So, anything light? Watered down, almost see through beers are your best bet.

If you like a berry flavored beer try leinenkoogals berry weiss (spelling is way fucked up)

I've tasted light beer and it tastes like piss smells. I was thinking of getting something thick with a bite, not piss. I want something that tastes good.

Leinenkugel's Berry Weiss
Leinenkugel's Honey Weiss
Leinenkugel's Bigg Butt
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale

Or...the sissy drinks:
Corona
Hooch
Smirnoff Ice / Ice Black

Try a wheat beer with a slice of lemon in it, or also try and find a brand called Blue Moon and have them put a shot of orange juice in it.

Good stuff.

The secret of beer for Newbies:

When drinking wine coolers, force yourself to drink about 5-6. You'll notice from this experience that they start to taste REALLY sweet after the 2nd or 3rd and you probably won't want any more.

Next, drink a beer. It won't be sweet enough...so you won't like it.

Another night when you're out or even at home.....drink 3-6 bottles of something bitter... Pete's Wicked Ale is a good one for this.

Upon finishing the last of the Pete's switch to something light like Bud Light. If everything went well with the Pete's the Bud Light will have a sweet taste and you'll be able to drink it very easily. After a few times of mixing your beers like this, you'll start to crave the domestics and eventually work your taste up to something more darker and more sophisticated.

Guy those piss-smelling beers are the TAMEST ones. If you don't like those beers you're probably going to HATE anything harder like a good stout.

You like hard liquor - why not just get that?

The problem is, you're thinking that because the review says the beer has a cinnamon taste, or chocolate taste, or oatmeal taste, it's going to taste like that. But that's not really what it tastes like. It tastes like beer, with a hint of these flavors. If you can't handle Bud/Coors/Miller, then there's no way you're going to automatically like some of the heavier stuff, like Guinness, or Sammy Smith.

if you are going to a bar, dont think about ordering anything to fancy when it comes to beer. Anything besides the norm will probably have been sitting there for a long time and will be skunk.

If I were you I would order a Bass or Heineken. Both are popular enough to be fresh, but stillt taste good.

I want to try something different.

I still say a wheat beer with a slice of lemon. Look for Boulevard Wheat.

Very smooth, non pissy tasting beer. A lot of women that I know that don't like the taste of beer like the taste of wheat beer with lemon.

Heineken's more bitter than domestics, so I don't think there's any way he'd like it.

Fair enough. If you're going to go for a stout try a milk stout over an oatmeal stout. Less bitter and more pleasing to most people.

I had one of these before and it wasn't bad. How much like a dark beer is that?

Woodchuck isn't a beer. It's a cider.

It's kind of like asking if apple juice tastes like coffee.
