Weed turns me into a raging paranoiac. I'll stick to beer, thanks.

I'll stick to soda, thanks. Drinking beer makes one have a fat belly and neck, and heart and liver and eventually leads to death at an early age. I think the state ought to put a ban on alcohol completely. There's hardly a thing worse than alcohol, even smoking isn't nearly as bad (although it's an extremely nasty and disgusting habit, too, but I'd prefer to live next door to smokers rather than to alcoholics).

Well, there's a bit of a difference between someone who enjoys the odd beer and a raging alcoholic. I certainly enjoy beer now and again yet I am a normal weight and currently have a resting pulse around 45 thanks to all the cycling I do. Everything in moderation as they say.

what rock do you live under? many studies have shown that moderate drinking of wine, beer, is BENEFICIAL.

Any German-brewed Hefe-Weizen Bier. Available in many parts of the USA.
Hoegaarden is a belgian "white" beer (wheat) that's also very tasty and can be found in many states.

Yeah, that's right. But who drinks it in moderation and where to draw the line? Seeing so many hangover threads, heck, it becomes apparent not many people can.

You're entitled to your opinion, of course, but outlawing alcohol has been tried before and the results weren't particularly successful IIRC. ;)

I always drink in moderation. I love the taste, I enjoy the mild buzz that a few drinks will give you, and I apprectiate the social aspects of having a few drinks with friends, but I dislike drunks, I HATE to get drunk, and I hate hangovers even more. Therefore, I only drink in moderation. Getting raging drunk is only for the stupid young anyway. Almost no one over the age of 30 can tolerate drinking too much -- their bodies just can't do it anymore.
Anyway, just because YOU doubt your abilities to control your liquor is no reason to go around trying to inflict your ways upon others. God, I fscking hate morons like yourself. Begone from this thread! :disgust: :|

OK, that's fine. It's getting too hot in here. Perhaps the definition of 'moderation' for you is different.
My definition of moderation is a quiet hot summer afternoon on a Friday, about 6-7pm. I just got done with a 50-60 hour work week filled with hell and stress. I get out of the suit-n-tie, thrown on a t-shirt and shorts, grab my lawn chair and a beer or two, and camp out in my half-acre backyard and watch the sunset.
Don't take my beer away from me, pal -- I'll bite.

I think it should be  since we speak of moderation. Sigh.
One for me and one for you. Beer is a social thing, remember? :p

Most their other brews are good too, best @ the resteraunt though

Bell's Oberon.

Best summer beer ever.
That is a VERY GOOD beer.
Thankfully in Southeast Michigan every bar has it, as does just about every liqour store. See a lot of people with Oberon shirts when it first comes out (in April I believe).

Oberon owns. :)
