Beer drinking dogs?

I don't condone this behavior, but maybe some of us have been there. My Chihuahua was busted tonight swilling a bit of my glass of beer, when I came out of the bathroom. This is not the first time she's done this. Is it possible that, just like some humans, some dogs like beer? :shocked:

Can't contribute to canine alcoholism. Next thing I know, she'll be standing outside a 7-11 begging for spare change. It's bad enough that I do it. :shocked:

 
What kind of beer was it? Some dogs like some weird things. My dog eats it's own vomit, so I can see it drinking beer.

edit: not that beer is disgusting. I like beer.
 
Over Christmas I stayed with a freind in Alaska who had four corgi pups. One of them is a beer snob. If I had a nice winter ale he'd be all over it. If I had a Bud Light he'd look at it like he was sniffing a turd.

Pretty cool dog...

dogs like any kind of human food/drink... heck, they even eat cat and dog poo sometimes so i believe they can easily like beer.

(and no wonder you have the calmest chihuahua in town :laugh: )
 
Dogs will eat/drink anything. My dog will eat pretty much try to eat everything in his path. So going on a walk with him is bad.

We used to dog sit my moms friend's lhasa apso and that thing loved beer. My dad spilled some one time and the dog was licking it up off the pavement so we put a little in his water bowl and he gulped it down and sat there looking at us wanting more, lol. Crazy mutt.

Never seen a dog drink beer, that would be cool but,

I used to have a german sheppard, and one time during leftovers after a party, everything was on the table. Somehow the dog got up and ate a giant half circle of fruit cake with plums inside it. He ate everything but left the plums in perfect condition on the plate. My mom woke up the next morning hung over and started eating the plums haha, after he spit them out. Only after like 4-5 did she realize she was eating up after the dog.

The dog had a real talent for spitting shit out in perfect condition. I remember feeding him his heartworm pills, there was no way in hell he would eat them and it was just a tiny pill. We would put the little pills into balls of ground beef and feed them to him, only to have him chew them like a i love you and spit out the tiny pill when he was done, it was amazing. Finally we got pissed off and shoved the pills down his throat lol.

My dog loves beer, her fav seems to be Sam Adams Winter Lager though. Funny thing whenever she has beer she sneezes a couple of times after drinking a bit and continues to do so till its all gone.
