completely depends on where i'm at. If i go to an irish pub, it's Guinness or smithwicks...or i may drink whiskey. If it's at a "club" type bar...whatever the cheapest beer is (usually corona or bud in bottle).

whao, you in San Diego? (which bar serves Stone's brewery's stuff on tap?) I am in La Jolla right now and I just bought Stone Pale Ale and Smoked Porter from CostPlus. I trid IPA before and wasn't too amused, but Arrogant Bastard Ale is teh shitzo...
i can tell you a few bars that serve stone stuff. bennigans in mission valley has a couple of stones beers i believe on tap (i know they have pale ale on tap for sure), the bar i hang out a couple times a week by sea world has pale ale on tap, and the bar nearest me, backyard brewery, definetly has arrogant. in fact, i might be going there in an hour or so. 😉

while im at it, let me get a shout out to my man karl strauss also! and thank my lucky stars for a town that has plenty of bars, and plenty of local, good microbrews and beer manufacturers. btw, corona is ass, there are better mexican beers, and tequila is to be taken straight up. thank you, and dont forget to tip your waitress![/quote]

UCI Antihill Pub and Grille also serves Stone stuff:

UCI Pub Menu (serves Arrogant Bastard and many more)

Here arejust a few of the beers that I like (Wisconsin)

Leinenkugel's (Pale Ale and Big Butt)
New Glarus (Spotted Cow)
Fat Tire
Bells
Sammy Smith (Nut Brown Ale)
Goose Island (Honkers Ale)
Sierra Nevada (Pale, Porter, and Bigfoot😉)
John Courage

And teh shizle
Great Dane Scotch Ale

Ahhhh... another man who has dicovered Smithwick's. The bar where I occasionally bartend has pints of Smithwick's for $3. Which doesnt matter when I am bartending, since I am officially "volunteering" and am compensated by being allowed to drink all the beer/liquor I can handle and still competently serve the customers. Plus, the real money in bartending is tips, which I get to keep.

Plus, when I am there and not bartending, I often seem to get "mistake" beers that are, coincidentally, precisely what I was going to order.

*insert obligatory "The Smithwick's (or Guinness or Harp or etc) is better in Ireland" comment here*

I just came back from the local supermarket and got some Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout... boy that's good stuff. can't wait to try Stone's version.
meanwhile, I still can't find those Sup-up Stones though 🙁 but I was on UCSD campus and glad to find its pub serves IPA, PA, and AB. 🙂

okay, I procrastinated enough, I am heading to Stone's Brewery tomorrow for their tour!!! and it looks like I am just in time for their new release of the Old Guardian Barley Wine while getting a growler of IR Stout 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Looks like you'd be able to get some Double Bastard '03 at that event, too. I would recommend trying the Oaked 8th Ann. Ale if you can; while I have not tried it, I had the Oaked Arrogant Bastard, and the oak aging was a nice change of pace. If you do try to get some Oaked 8th, try a bottle of regular 8th Ann. Ale first, so you can tell the difference.

corona in a bottle.

If i pissed in your bottle you wouldn't notice a difference.

I goto the Essen Haus and drink Erdinger's until my designated driver can't stand me anymore and throws me in the car 😉
