beepy woes please help

whenever i run a game(or some heavy app), a bit further into it, random irregular beeps start coming up which slowly intensifies into continuous regular ones if i keep playin the game and after about a half minute the pc freezes..
the beeps i think are the ones for cpu overheating but my temp monitor shows the cpu to be hovering around 55(which is quite normal for it when i play a game)..
and now it happens almost as soon as i load up some game...
please help

system :
asus p4pe, 2.4b p4, 768mb ddr 333, radeon 9500pro

constant beeping is RAM issue
