Beep Code Combined With Burning

As the topic suggests, I'm a little worried about what's happening to my computer. My rig is a little more than two years old now. It is a classic athlon system running off a 250W PS. A little while back I started getting a beep code. The code was basically sparatic high and low beeps, no real pattern to it. After making a post on here I found that if I turned off the voltage and fan monitoring the beep code subsided. The computer was running fine, it wasn't crashing or anything like that, so I figured it wasn't a big deal. Yesterday, I turned the voltage and fan monitoring back on, hoping the beep code would be gone. Unfortunately, it was not gone. Now I was getting a code that sounded like a police siren. The code was a high beep followed immediately followd by a low beep immediately followed by a high beep and so on. Only when I turned all the voltage and fan monitoring off did the beep code once again go away. I did notice when I was looking at the voltages, that the 12V and -12V were off by a bit. I think the -12V went as low as -11.3V. Later on yesterday I started to smell burning coming from the computer. What is going on with my computer? All the fans are still working, so is it the power supply that going? There has been a very loud vibration coming from my computer since yesterday, could that factor into this at all? I hope the information I have provided helps. I would really appreciate your suggestions with this problem. Thanks in advance for your help!

Matt

Been there - done that. Upgrade your P/S to a good 300 watter (Sparkle, Antec, Enertec, etc.) and that will go away.
