Did they base Johnny Lawrence from the Karate Kid off of you?
Please don't beat me up. I'm fragile.
I take that as a compliment, thank you.
I was actually Daniel san. I was a 14yr old freshman beanpole that was already one of the tallest people in the school. AKA irresistible bully bait. And fighting was an unofficial extracurricular sport in our school. I started Karate with in 6 weeks of the first semester. I'd like to say the bullying stopped after a few months, but instead, I was in a lot of fights every year. At first, because I looked like an easy out for predators. Later, because some douche thinks he is going to make a reputation by throwing you a beating. Had to refuse to press charges on an 18yr old senior when I was 15. We fought outside the movies at the Merritt Square Mall that Friday night, under the parking lot lights. He looked like a bus hit him when he came up to me at school Monday morning. I did have trouble chewing food Saturday morning because my jaw was sore, so he at least landed some shots.
So he comes up to me, and says how sorry he is for bullying me, and wants to be friends. I go to shake his offered hand saying we're cool, and he pulls me into a groin kick and left hand. I hip checked the groin shot, and ate the left. I proceeded to open up all the damage I did Friday night, and add some more. It lasted less than a minute. Ended with me hitting him with an osoto geri. But with hand firmly gripping throat.
He hit so hard he back rolled. I then soccer kicked him so hard, his spirit left his body.

His head snapped back so far I thought I broke his neck. He did not move, he was truly bodied. Faculty finally pushes through the fight crowd. Culminating in me having to refuse to press criminal charges since it was an adult assaulting a minor. The thing is, neither he or I had discussed the first fight. And he was trying to get his street cred back because he didn't want the school to find out a skinny sophomore destroyed him. I heard later his friends were demanding it, to save face because it made seniors look bad or some shit. Here's the LULZ part. Everyone thought I did all that to him in the one short fight in front of the cafeteria. My reputation went bonkers. Fights after that usually evolved from creepers trying to push up on my girl,
like Daniel San did
or assholes at parties from other schools, that sort of thing.
I may be biased, but I trained at the best dojo around, with state kickboxing champs, a 3 time consecutive Battle of Atlanta grand champion, and the big cheese, was a NASA security expert that trained in Okinawa and Japan during his military years. Guy was built like a fire plug, and it felt like you were hitting one. African American dojo, all but one black belt was African American. I was one of 3 white dudes there. I mean it was the south in the 80s, and this is MAGA land, if that helps paint the picture.
Anyhow, like Daniel San, it started a lifetime love for combat sports and martial arts. My brain is now most displeased with my choices, but as Homer would quip - what did my stupid brain ever do for me?
Found a pic of me and one of my school mates/dojo bros, he is a year older than me, after my first tournament. This my good man is what bully bait looks like -
