Beef stew.. love it or hate it?

I've got a crock pot of beef stew simmering and bread baking to go with it. Have a pan of double chocolate chunk brownies with walnuts cooling.

Comfort foods.. do you love stew? if not what are your favorite winter comfort foods?

Beef stew and the home made chunky chicken noodle soup my wife makes are probably two of my favorite things to eat.

Love it. I'm not a fan of Beef Stew with Tomato, but I enjoy making some once a month or so. Need fresh bread for sure.

One of my favorite. I can make a mean beef stew but it takes 3-4 hours. Goes great with mashed taters and good bread.

Don't forget to put some wine in there! I find it crucial to have a good base of flavors and this is where a LeCreusset dutch oven comes in handy. Flour the meat, brown & remove, deglaze with onions/garlic and other veggies, finish off with about two cups of good red wine - there's your base.

A fresh, crusty loaf, yessssssssssss!

And double chocolate chunk brownies with walnuts and, ummmm, Jean!

I LOVE STEW. My mom's been cooking it since my brothers and I were kids. She doesn't use a crock pot either - just a giant pot on the stove. It makes the house smell sooooo good.

What do I indicate for "somewhere in between"? I certainly don't love it, nor hate it. I'll eat it without complaint, but I wouldn't ask for it anywhere, nor make it myself.

Not even if it's served in a bread bowl with mashed potatos and cheese on top?

That, IMO, is not just beef stew. That's an orgasm waiting to happen.
