If you guys have a Harbor Freight near you they always have dehydrators for under $20, and they have extra trays so you can make more at once.

I do make my own jerky and I have tried the oven and the dehydrator, only problem with the oven is in the Spring or Summer when the house is warm enough already, the last thing I wanna do is fire up the oven. So I use the dehydrator when it's warm outside, and the oven to heat the house when it's cool out.
FYI: Costco has 2 or 3 different marinades that are cheap and work great for jerky and other meats on the BBQ, Yoshinias is the brand name I think.
