Yeah she tried and couldn't get it to not go off again...so basically no clue at all what happened those days, if it ever happens again I'll work on it some more then but for now I'm chalking it up to female error of some sort;)

AM vs PM on the alarm? :p

Only time I missed the alarm was when I turned down the volume completely.

3gs from 4.0-5.0 and 4s @ 5.0

Haha..it was AM, it's a daily alarm;)

I'm going to guess this is what might have happened, though I would wonder why turning the volume down anywhere else would affect any alarms...might just be me only using BB's for any long period of time but the alert levels are controlled independently of any volume

You may have answered already but is she using the stock "Clock" app?

Other Alarm apps might have to be running (ie, can't exit to the home screen) or else they may not go off. That may have changed in OS5, I dunno, I use the stock app

Yep it's the stock clock...but it seems others are saying turning the volume down in general lowers the alarm volume...might have to test that tonight

You should approach her about her methodology and record her response. Immediately afterwards ask her how long it will take you to travel 50 miles when moving at 50mph. Post the video on youtube.

Nah, not gonna troll....

You just did.

But yeah, I was really confused when I started reading this thread. I've used a iPhone 3G on iOS 2-4 and a iPhone 4 on iOS 4&5 and I keep the vibrate switch on all the time and use it as my alarm clock with no problems.

Regardless, the functionality you want isn't available on stock. Jailbreak and look at atimetool or ischedule. Sbsschedule was pretty good, but last I head it wasn't updated for iOS 5.
