The ULC ordination is pretty cool and definitely legit. If you ever hear about a wedding that was performed while skydiving, scuba diving, spelunking, sitting at the top of a 200 ft. redwood tree, jello wrestling, etc., chances are good that the minister is associated with the ULC.

Besides the ability to find a job in Vegas and bragging rights, what are the benefits of this? I knew someone who did this years ago and vaguely recall some tax benefits and special parking or something along those lines.

I signed up, and the deal gets better! I got an email which among many other things states:
Anyone that expands the ministry of the church by ordaining at least 15 new ministers will be rewarded in the here and now by canonization into Sainthood - free in appreciation of services rendered on the church's behalf.
All I have to do is tell a bunch of friends about this, and I'll be a saint! 😀

I'm going to start a cult.

If we go by your reasoning then all teachers camp counselors and anyone else that works with kids is a pedophile. There may be truth in the fact that these atrocities have happened but the reason they are glorified in the news is because these people profess to believe in god. And the weak minded will buy whatever the media throws at them. I am not a Christian, I am an american and I believe in freedom of choice and the right not to be persectued for ones beliefs.

there was no truth hitting a nerve, it was bigotry

This has to be about the funniest thread I've read here at AT.
Sure wish I could come up with a good quip...

Yea, I got ordained with a friend a few years back. Thought about it from reading Hunter S. Thompson. In anycase, my friend preformed to service for my wife and I, and as far as I know, we are still legally married.

What? He serviced your wife?

:Q

This Rocks! Thanks for the link. My dog is now a member as well. So, maybe now he can do that guys wife?
