Some minsisters can and do use the priest-type shirt

Like I said, not even close to the same thing! I don't know any ministers that wear those but you may be right. It takes several years of study in a seminary for someone to become a priest last time I checked.

The shirt makes nobody a priest. This does not claim to make anyone a priest. There are ministers, though not widespread, that use that shirt. Not as much as there used to be though.

I heard about this organization many years ago and I wrote to them asking how to become an ordained minister. I received a response stating I am now one. I thought it was funny. Since then I have performed 3 weddings (all still together), ordained one of my friends and he has performed 3 weddings as well. It's a hoot!

So what is the difference between a minister and a priest ? and what is the difference in the shirts ? I am looking to get a black outfit with that white square on the collar.

OMG - this is great. It's a truly legit scam. Makes me almost want to buy some of this stuff. I mean, I've been considering going for a doctorate, but I just couldn't deal with the work, and the professors again. Looks like I just might have to be a doctor after all. They're even accredited (by themselves, of course).

...oh, wait a minute...I can get a TITLE, too? Wow, I kinda like "Baron." Baron Overzeetop, Ph. D. Yeah, that has a nice ring to it.

LMAO

Just the bare essentials for new ministers.

This isn't a hot deal... read the fine print:
**8 year old boy sold seperately.**

Im pretty sure you can find 8 year old boys for under $50 in most third world countries... and if you use coupon code 9b3f67 you can get one for $27.95 shipped.

;)

THAT"S FUNNY!

Weird stuff. But I'll stick to being no more than a choir member in our church.

There's something vaguely disturbing about clicking a button that says "Ordain Me." I just can't quite put my finger on it... oh well. Hope I get the certificate. Perhaps I'll have something to add to my resume. Skills: can perform weddings.

I was going to buy their doctors of metaphysics. but an honorary doctorates is the same since it is honorary wether it is from NYU or the ULC right? I mean like, honorary is honorary... so do you think I should shell out the bucks ? hmm..... honorary doctorates for a 20 dollar donation.

I thought that the only thing that I had to be ashamed of living in Modesto was Gary Condit. Well now I have this. But what the hell. Since the headquarters is right down the road from where I work, I may as well get ordained! Here I go. Oh and who wants to join my flock and find salvation?

Ok, question time. I saw this on Tech TV a while back, and thought, "What a cool idea." So, my brother-in-law just got engaged, and I thought it would be neat if I or my wife could perform the ceremony for him. Seeing as I live in Michigan, what exactly do I need to do (forms and certificates and whatnot) for his marriage to be considered legal if I signed up to be ordained. Also, what materials would be good to purchase (so I can figure out what to say up there, ha)? Any help from those of you who have already performed weddings from ULC would be greatly appreciated. Cool deal :)

For those of you having trouble understanding the legitimacy of this, look at it this way: how legit is a justice of the peace?
This is a legal technicality--similar to a justice of the peace, but you are a minister.
This is for real--as the post above stated, you must follow the regulation of your state (if any) in order to make a marriage legal.
I just think it's funny--that's why I did it about a year ago :)

Maybe it's true.., I should be committed...

>Your commitment is to always do the right thing. It is
>your responsibility to peacefully and sincerely determine
>the right course of action, and to avoid infringing on the
>rights of others. You alone are responsible for your
>actions as a minister.

AHAHHA ive been ordained for almost 8 years throught the ULC....

what you dont understand is how cool it is to have the special titles they are $10 each...

i got a few

i am:
Swami
Shaman
Hadji
Dervish
and my favorite which you apparently cannot get anymore since i didnt see it in the list

Bodhisapha i think thats how it was spelled, i'll have to dig out the certificate

Maybe i'll have to shell out to get Guru so i truly can be a Computer Guru...

The ULC isnt affilliated with ANY church thier philosophy is that what ever you believe in is what you can preach... so truly practice what you preach!!!!

Until later
Swami shaman hadji dervish bodhisapha Marc
