Just to update the situation on Figo, it is being said in Portugal that Figo has been called to take notice of Man Utd's transfer proposal and to begin talks on personal terms with Man Utd's.

Beckham is uselss footballwise, the only reason they bought him is for marketing purposes and we all know it... beckham is *only* good for free kicks. Nothing else. And I hate his ugly ass hair style(S).

They didn't fire him... his contract wasn't renewed.

But they'll have a better coach next year with Carlos Queiroz;)

Isn't that the same thing. Even if he gets to be a technical director, I still don't get it. The results he has made are fine.

I wonder how Rijkaard (spelled?) will do in Barcelona.

Del Bosque has been a Real Madrid employee since the 80's (from a regular team player to coach) and before he stepped up to first coaching he was some sort of youth squad coordinator, job he'll be returning to if he's interested.

I don't see this non renewal as being that important, it is overshadowed by Hierro's exit from Real Madrid and all this transfer speculation regarding Figo and Carlos Queiroz, IMO.

As for Barça I sincerely hope they drop down to Segunda Division coz they just SOL as a football team.

Thats the thing I dont get about this. The man as spent almost his entire life in RM, and he has won trophys. I could understand it if he had not.

Same thing about Hierro. Yes, hes getting old, but he too has spent his life at RM. And I would think that a club should treat their players as such. IMO he should have his contract renewed, even if he isnt playing so well anymore hes still a good player. Short version: When a player has spent all their life being loyal to one club, the only decent thing would be to renew his contract. Even if he isnt a regular next season. They simply ought to do it out of decency.

I choose to overlook the Barca comment. :disgust: :)

News Flash: Carlos Queiroz is getting ready to sign a two year deal with Real Madrid and Figo is setting himself up for two years at Old Trafford.

If Figo joins Man. United, I must say that Ferguson has played this one brilliantly.
